Chapter 4: Azia Kongreso

Azia Kongreso

1. One of the main reasons for my trip was to participate in the La 9-a Azia-Oceania Kongreso de Esperanto, the 9th Asia-Oceania Esperanto Conference held in the beautiful city of Danang from April 25 to April 28. I’ll just call it “AK” below.

2. I’ve been an enthusiastic Esperantist for many years. I love the logical structure of the language, the superb word-formation mechanism, the ease of learning, the enthusiasm and friendliness of Esperanto speakers, and the many cultural and social events that take place at Esperanto conferences.
3. As you can see, there were parties, dancing, the wonderful experience of eating out on the sidewalks, and of course as usual I had my unicycle with me, which I take with me almost anywhere I go in the world.
4. The main part of the conference consisted of lectures and presentations. On April 28, the last day, I delivered a presentation entitled “The Key to Mastering some East Asian Languages.” My Powerpoint presentation will give you an idea of what I talked about, including various methods I used to learn the 11 languages I speak (I’ve studied another seven).
5. I met so many interesting people at the conference! For me one of the highlights was Ajua Serge Rusaki from — surprise! — the Democratic Republic of Congo. He was very active and led some events like the goodbye party. Extremely intelligent and charming, Serge is a talented young man, a good dancer, and a true master of Esperanto.
6. The second was the Polish philosopher/historian Dr. Maciej St. Zieba, a prolific author who speaks even more languages than me 🙂 (14 to 11). Clearly a genius, he is a professor in a Chinese university teaching languages like Esperanto and Sanskrit, Indian/Chinese philosophy, and more. His lecture on philosophy and our discussions were fascinating, ranging from learning Vietnamese to the existence of God and everything in-between! One day, on the beautiful beaches of Danang, I screwed up my courage and we both went parasailing together –scary, but what a thrill!

アジア大会

1. 今回の旅行のもう一つの大きな目的は、４月25～28日、美しいダナン市で開催される La 9-a Azia-Oceania Kongreso de Esperanto（第９回アジア・オセアニアエスペラント大会）に参加することであった。以下、この大会をAKと呼ぶことにする。

2. 私は何年も前から熱心なエスペランティストである。この言語の論理的な構造、優れた造語法、学習の容易さ、エスペラント話者たちのひたむきさと人なつっこさ、それとエスペラント大会で開催される様々な文化的・社会的イベントに魅せられている。
3. 御覧のように、パーティーあり、ダンスありで、道端で食べる素敵な経験もした。忘れてならないのは、世界中どこにでも持っていく私の一輪車。今回もしっかり持参した。
4. 大会の主な内容は、講演やプレゼン。最終日の４月28日、私は「東アジア言語を習得する鍵」と題して、発表を行った。パワーポイントを御覧になれば、私が現在話せる11言語（それ以外にあと７言語を学習した）を学ぶのに使った様々な方法を含め、私がどのような話をしたかが分かって頂けると思う。
5. 私は大会で実に多くの興味深い人たちと出会った！　私にとって、ハイライトの一つは、Ajua Serge Rusaki という人物との出会いであった。出身は、何と何と、コンゴ民主共和国。とても活発な人で、さよならパーティーなどいくつかのイベントのまとめ役をしていた。非常に頭がよく、チャーミングで、才能に溢れる青年で、ダンスも上手、エスペラントの達人だった。
6. 二人目は、ポーランドの哲学者・歴史学者、Maciej St. Zieba博士。著書多数。私よりも更に多くの言語を話す（14対11）。天才であることは明らか。現在、中国の大学で教授として、エスペラントやサンスクリット等の言語、インド・中国哲学等を教えている。彼の哲学に関する講演は大変興味をそそるものであり、その後２人はベトナム語学習から神の存在に至るまで、あらゆるテーマについて夢中になって話し合った。ある日、美しいダナンの浜辺で、私は勇気を奮い起こし、２人で一緒に「パラセーリング」をした。恐い、でも何というスリル！

1. Unu el la ĉefaj kialoj por mia ĉi-foja vojaĝo estis partopreni en La 9-a Azia-Oceania Kongreso de Esperanto, okazinta en la bela urbo Danang ekde la 25-a ĝis la 28 de aprilo. Mi nomos ĝin simple “AK” ĉi-sube.

   Ĉi tiu jutuba filmeto montras kelkajn el la plej memorindaj okazaĵoj de AK (Azia Kongreso).

2. De multaj jaroj mi estas entuziasma esperantisto. Mi amas la logikan strukturon de la lingvo, la superban mekanismon de vortfarado, la facilecon en lernado, la entuziasmon kaj amikemon de Esperanto-parolantoj, kaj la multajn kulturajn kaj sociajn eventojn, kiuj okazas ĉe Esperanto-kongresoj.
3. Kiel vi povas vidi, estas bankedoj, dancado, la mirinda sperto manĝi ekstere sur la trotuaro, kaj kompreneble kiel kutime mi havis ĉe mi mian unuciklon, kiun mi kunportas kun mi preskaŭ ĉien ajn en la mondo, kien mi iras.
4. La ĉefa parto de la kongreso konsistis el lekcioj kaj prezentadoj. La 28-an de aprilo, la lastan tagon, mi donis prezentadon kun la titolo “La Ŝlosilo al Ellernado de Kelkaj Orient-Aziaj Lingvoj”. Mia materialo en Povpunkto komprenigos al vi, pri kio mi parolis, inkluzive de diversaj metodoj, kiujn mi uzis por lerni la 11 lingvojn, kiujn mi parolas (krome mi studis sep aliajn lingvojn).
5. En la kongresejo mi konatiĝis kun tre multaj interesaj personoj! Por mi unu el la plej memorindaj okazaĵoj estis renkontiĝo kun Ajua Serge Rusaki el — surprize! — la Demokratia Respubliko de Kongo. Li estis tre aktiva, kaj gvidis kelkajn aranĝojn, inkluzive de la adiaŭa kunsido. Treege inteligenta kaj ĉarma, Serge estis talenta junulo, lerta dancisto kaj vera reganto de Esperanto.
6. La dua estis renkontiĝo kun la pola filozofo/historiisto d-ro Maciej St. Zieba, fekunda aŭtoro, kiu parolas pli multajn lingvojn ol mi 🙂 (14 kontraŭ 11). Klare geniulo, li estas profesoro ĉe ĉina universitato, instruanta lingvojn kiel Esperanto kaj Sanskrito, hindan/ĉinan filozofion, kaj tiel plu. Lia lekcio pri filozofio ravis min, kaj ni absorbiĝis en diskutoj pri diversaj temoj tra la tuta gamo, ekde lernado de la vjetnama ĝis la ekzisto de Dio. Iun tagon, sur la bela plaĝo de Danang, mi ĉerpis mian tutan kuraĝon kaj ni ambaŭ kune paraŝutvelis — timige, sed kia ekscito!

Đại hội Châu Á

1. Một trong những lý do chính trong chuyến đi của tôi là tham dự La 9a Azia-Oceania Kongreso de Esperanto, Đại hội Quốc tế ngữ (Esperanto) châu Á – châu Đại Dương lần thứ 9 (AK9) tổ chức ở thành phố Đà Nẵng xinh đẹp, từ 25 đến 28 tháng Tư. Dưới đây tôi sẽ gọi ngắn gọn là “AK”.

2. Tôi là một người đam mê Quốc tế ngữ trong nhiều năm nay. Tôi rất thích cấu trúc lô-gíc của ngôn ngữ này, phương thức cấu tạo từ ưu việt, sự thoải mái dễ dàng khi học, sự nhiệt tình và thân thiện của những người nói Quốc tế ngữ, và những sự kiện văn hoá xã hội diễn ra trong các hội thảo Quốc tế ngữ.
3. Như bạn thấy đấy, có những bữa tiệc, có khiêu vũ, có trải nghiệm tuyệt vời của việc ngồi vỉa hè ăn hàng. Và tất nhiên cũng như mọi lần, tôi đã mang theo chiếc xe đạp một bánh của mình, thứ mà tôi gần như luôn mang theo mình khi đi bất cứ đâu trên thế giới.
4. Phần chính của hội nghị gồm có các bài giảng và thuyết trình. Ngày 28 tháng Tư, ngày cuối cùng của hội nghị, tôi đã có một bài trình bày với tựa đề “Chìa khoá để nắm vững một số Ngôn ngữ Đông Á.” Bản powerpoint của tôi sẽ giúp các bạn phần nào hiểu được nội dung mà tôi nói đến, trong đó gồm cả những phương pháp mà tôi đã vận dụng để học 11 ngôn ngữ mà tôi có thể nói được (ngoài ra thì tôi cũng học bảy ngôn ngữ khác nữa).
5. Tôi đã gặp biết bao nhiêu người thú vị ở hội nghị! Đối với tôi một trong những điều nổi bật của hội nghị lần này là cuộc gặp gỡ với Ajua Serge Rusaki. Anh đến từ Cộng hoà Dân chủ Congo. Quả là bất ngờ! Anh là một người rất năng động và chính anh đã dẫn dắt một số sự kiện như tiệc chia tay chẳng hạn. Vừa thông minh lại có duyên, Serge là một chàng trai trẻ tài năng, một vũ công giỏi, và một bậc thầy thật sự về Quốc tế ngữ.
6. Người thứ hai mà tôi được gặp là nhà triết học/sử gia người Ba Lan, tiến sĩ Maciej St. Zieba. Ông là một tác giả có rất nhiều bài viết, người mà thậm chí còn nói được nhiều ngôn ngữ hơn cả tôi (14 so với 11 ngôn ngữ). Rõ ràng là một thiên tài. Ông là giáo sư ở một trường đại học Trung Quốc, giảng dạy các ngôn ngữ như Quốc tế ngữ và tiếng Phạn, triết học Ấn Độ/Trung Quốc, và còn nhiều nữa. Bài giảng về triết học của ông và những cuộc thảo luận của chúng tôi thực sự rất sôi nổi và lôi cuốn, từ việc học tiếng Việt đến sự tồn tại của Chúa và vô vàn những thứ khác. Một hôm, trên bãi biển xinh đẹp ở Đà Nẵng, tôi đã lấy hết can đảm và hai chúng tôi cùng đi chơi dù bay trên biển (parasailing) – đáng sợ thật đấy nhưng quả là một trải nghiệm ly kỳ!
